I have two washes in the GTA , Keele and Lawrence and Victoria Park and Ellesmere
Wash #1 (12 bays) ... $2.00 for just shy of 3 minutes....competition down the street is the same. I am thinking of revamping the wash and upping the price soon.
Wash #2 (9 bays)......$3.00 for 4 minutes.....2 year old wash with all the bells and whistles. Two other washes within 10 minutes same price but older washes.

Hi JJ
This is just my opinion, but I would up the vac price to $2.....some people are unaware that you don't need exact change. If you were to count the amount of quarters you got in the vacs that would tell you that people are looking for .75 cents.....they may not use the vacuume because of it. I am sure you have signs, but in my neck of the woods people can't read. It is much easier for a customer to have loonies and toonies on them, especially if you bill changer only dispences loonies and toonies

Thanks Stuart
I still give quarters and loonies from my change machine for the people who are looking to use the vacs. My plan is to increase the price at my vacs in the summer after upgrading some of the older models and adding my credit card swipes to them. I will then make the move to loonies and toonies in my change machine.
I agree that a loonie or a toonie is more convenient. I am not afraid to say that I am somewhat apprehensive about raising the price. I was planning on increasing the time accordingly so the customer receives the same value. But, I'm afraid that 99% of the people will not realize that and only see that the price has been raised.
I appreciate anyones input regarding raising pricing and the customer's response. I, in fact, appreciate anyones input regarding any aspect of washing cars. We all need to share the wealth (of information that is).

Do either of you guys post the amount of time the customer receives for the 'start' amount?
