The Options Menu

On the bar above where the forum name appears, there should be the word "Options" to the extreme right. Click on that word and the following options appear:

  • Watch this topic
  • RSS Feed
  • Email this topic
  • Print this topic

If you select the Watch option, you will be emailed a notice when the topic is added to or changed. If you select RSS the topic will be added to your RSS feeds list. The Email option will call up the forum's email screen to allow you to send the message off. The Print option turns the page into a more printer friendly format so that it can be printed from the browser.

For the Watch and RSS options, once selected they can be unselected by going back to the Options menu.

Using RSS Feed

There has been some questions asked related to obtaining notification when new posting happen. RSS feeds is one of the most productive ways as it is pulled by you through either your browser or RSS feed reader. Those of you using the latest version of Microsoft Outlook can also have notification of changes called in to a special RSS Feed folder. For more details on this and explanation of what RSS is, try office.microsoft.com/training/training.aspx.

Removing a Watched Forum

When you use the Watch Forum option, you are taking a subscription to the topic you've selected. If you wish to unsubscribe for any given topic you have selected, go to the My Profile option. On that screen towards on the bottom left you will see a Personal Profile heading followed by several links, the last of which is Subscriptions. Click on that link and you will be taken a screen where you can unsubscribe.
